We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Procurement Officer

Job Location: CMS, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Objective / Purpose of the Job


  • The Procurement Officer supports the end-to-end procurement process for goods, materials, and services across the estate and corporate operations in Abuja.
  • This role works closely with the Procurement Manager to ensure timely sourcing, vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost efficiency.

Key Accountabilities
Procurement Operations:

  • Assist in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services in line with internal requests, approved budgets, and timelines.
  • Ensure timely processing of purchase requisitions, vendor quotations, and purchase orders (POs).
  • Monitor procurement timelines to prevent down time or service delays on FM sites.

Vendor Management:

  • Source and evaluate new vendors/suppliers; maintain an updated database of preferred suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor performance, delivery timelines, quality of goods/services, and responsiveness.
  • Support periodic vendor appraisal and blacklisting where necessary.
  • Ensure proper archiving and updating of the SLAs in the folder

Negotiation & Cost Optimization:

  • Support negotiations with suppliers for best value in terms of price, quality, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvement, and budget adherence.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure all procurement documentation (quotations, PO, delivery notes, invoices) are accurate, verified, and properly archived.
  • Ensure full compliance with company procurement procedures and financial authorization limits.
  • Support compliance checks on vendor statutory obligations including VAT

Coordination with Internal Teams:

  • Collaborate with operations to align procurement with operational needs.
  • Liaise with the Finance team for timely invoice processing, reconciliation, and vendor payments.
  • Work with Facility Managers to support urgent/emergency procurement on site.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Generate and maintain weekly and monthly procurement activity reports.
  • Track PO status, vendor performance, and budget utilization.
  • Assist in preparing procurement spend analysis and market intelligence reports.

Education / Knowledge, Skills, Attributes, Experience and other Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or CIPM (Certified Institute of Purchasing and Supply) are an advantage.
  • 2-4 years of procurement experience, preferably in the Facility Management or related industry.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of procurement regulations, compliance, and best practices.
