Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Manager
Job Summary:
The QHSE Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations within the organization. This role involves the development, implementation, and monitoring of QHSE policies, procedures, and programs to promote a safe and sustainable work environment. The specialist will collaborate with various departments to identify risks, conduct audits, provide training, and drive continuous improvement in QHSE performance.
Job Type: Full Time, Onsite, Warri.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the company's quality management system, ensuring alignment with recognized international standards.
- Develop, revise, implement, and enhance the company's QHSE procedures.
- Manage risk mitigation programs in collaboration with all Heads of Departments across the company and its projects.
- Upgrade and implement the company’s Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Track and document QHSE performance, reviewing metrics to ensure that company targets are met.
- Promote and publicize annual safety management performance and milestone achievements.
- Coordinate HAZID operations and conduct internal and external QHSE audits within the company.
- Plan and monitor security management programs for the company’s operations and projects.
- Enhance awareness and adherence to QHSE and security standards among staff through effective training and communication.
- Establish and manage STOP WORK authority for all activities that pose hazards to health, safety, the environment, or the company's corporate image.
- Plan and oversee all emergency recovery activities and decontamination programs across company operations.
- Ensure the company adheres to all client quality requirements and verify compliance.
- Manage all quality-related correspondence with clients and resolve customer quality complaints.
- Prepare comprehensive QHSE documentation for tender submission
- Lead the development and performance of the QHSE team and provide mentoring to team members.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field. HSE certifications (NEBOSH IGC & OHSAS 18001 or ISPON Certification) are mandatory, along with Lead Qualification in ISO 14001 and knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in the health, safety, and environment sector, specifically within the Oil and Gas, Offshore, or Marine industries.
- Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of international standards and procedures, allowing for informed decision-making.
- Knowledge of security control measures.
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, with the ability to tactfully and effectively engage with others.
- Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure.
- Proficiency in software applications, Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, and project management tools.
