Job Summary

• To support in the development of product concepts, research and analysis, planning and development, engineering, launch and post launch of products, with all the related technical and commercial validations as such as site inspections, specs review and BOQ’s preparation, and visiting customers and other stakeholders to deliver technical consultation.

Responsibilities

• Follows up and supports on tracking and defining latest developments in Power and energy technologies, researching specific new processes or materials processing technologies for possible new product development, provides support in assessing market opportunities, usability, scalability, and business and technical need for the product.
• Collects and provides input to justify stakeholders’ requirements for product development. Assists in generating hypothesis for product identity and research priority in accordance with existing product range, and product development needs; and reports research analysis requirements and findings.
• Prepares and conducts technical training sessions for other team members and technicians on new products, by coordinating with their department heads on needed material and length of time, and testing them at the end of the sessions, to alleviate technical performance and knowledge of the employees on the new products for better performance and service.
• Supports the organization’s intellectual property by organizing and documenting data that result from experimentations and concept generation activities, as well as, providing input to creating new SOPs and maintaining all relevant SOPs to ensure strict compliance for R&D functional specifications and relevant quality systems
• Develops and suggests product design specifications in accordance with management and customer requirements. Develops product drawings and statistics, material handling, and test methods.
• Oversees the assembly and the coupling of the designed solution, assists in testing output design against planned, justifies variations, and provides input to reports results.
• Participates in evaluating solutions success, and suggests revision and upgrade frequency and approach as needed. Measures the overall solution impact, and reports achieved results against baselines intended in terms of time, cost, specs, and needs met.
• Attend exhibitions related to the company’s field of work, by searching for new products or items, to assist in upgrading company products.
• Performs other related assignments as requested..

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Electrical, or Technical Degree or Equivalent in Engineering
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role and industry.
• NSE, COREN or any other equivalent certification will be an added advantage.
