Job Position: Senior Accountant

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos

Role Description


  • This is a full-time on-site Senior Accountant role located in Lekki. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial activities, analyzing financial data, preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
  • The role also involves collaborating with teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial decision-making.
  • We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who will not only oversee our financial reporting and compliance, but also play a pivotal role in laying a solid structure for our receivables management, ensuring cash flow stability, optimized processes, and business scalability.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee all accounting operations and daily transactions
  • Monitor trade receivables and payables with precision

Conduct monthly bank reconciliations:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly management reports (KPIs, budgets, variance analysis)
  • Drive the annual budgeting process and manage cash flow forecasting
  • Generate and review financial statements and regulatory reports
  • Analyze revenue patterns and ensure optimal cost control.

Tax Management:

  • Lead tax planning and ensure full compliance with regulations
  • Manage VAT and WHT filings and submissions
  • Track updates in tax legislation and implement changes
  • Maintain accurate tax documentation and records.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor the Finance/Accounting team
  • Coordinate accounting deadlines across departments
  • Compliance & Internal Control
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies
  • Support internal/external audits
  • Implement and monitor internal controls
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial documentation
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA , CPA or equivalent)
  • 6+ years of accounting/finance experience with leadership responsibilities
  • Proven experience structuring and managing receivables
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and accounting software
  • High integrity and detail-oriented
  • Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting, and Record Keeping skills
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
