We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Senior Accountant
Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
Financial Oversight & Supervision:

• Supervise and review bookkeeping, transaction postings, and reconciliations carried out by junior accountants.
• Oversee the integrity of financial data across ledgers, journals, and subledgers.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and financial reporting standards.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Lead the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Perform variance analysis and deliver insights into operational and financial performance.
• Present financial summaries and interpretations to management with recommendations for improvement.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control:

• Coordinate the company-wide budgeting process and update forecasts based on actuals and trend analysis.
• Track and report on cost centers (food, labour, operations), highlighting variances and inefficiencies.
• Provide financial models and scenario analyses to support business planning and decision-making.

Audit, Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure finance operations are audit-ready; manage both internal and external audit processes.
• Maintain and update compliance trackers for PAYE, VAT, Pension, WHT, and other obligations.
• Monitor internal controls and implement improvements to reduce risks and enhance financial accuracy.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight:

• Review aging reports and monitor timely collection of receivables.
• Authorize and monitor payment schedules for vendors and contractors.
• Resolve escalated issues with suppliers or customers related to invoicing, payment, or reconciliation.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Mentor and train junior finance team members, including accountants and finance assistants.
• Delegate tasks and review deliverables for quality and accuracy.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess a B.Sc Degree with 4 years of work experience.
