Trainee Associate

Position: Trainee Associate.

Experience: Minimum of One (1) year post call experience.

Education: LLB. B.L, LLM Certification is an advantage.

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. 

Job Requirements:

• Sound research and legal drafting skills.
• Core advocacy and mediation skills which include:
  • Organising and preparing originating and other processes for Court proceedings, mediation sessions and Arbitration meetings;
  • Taking minutes of court proceedings and drafting petitions/criminal complaints;
  • Following up on actions and outstandings from court proceedings and investigation pending at law enforcement agencies;
  • Providing competent legal advisory services as may be required;
  • Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and advising clients accordingly;
  • liaising with security/law enforcement operatives and external regulators.

•  Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance, ADR, and insolvency practice.
• Experience in land regularisation within Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory.

Skills:

• Ability to work independently, take initiative and work strictly within set timelines.
• Liaise effectively with government (security) agencies and parastatals. 
• Good interpersonal and client management skills.
• Ability to function effectively under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Adept researcher and good analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in teams.
