Job Title: Company Accountant

Location: Lagos

With locations in Lagos, Warri and Port Harcourt, Wafa Aggregate is poised to deliver white
products to any location within the sub-region as can be attested to by our blue-chip customers such as Total, Mobil, Dangote, MTN and a host of others.

We require a skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team.

The role

Responsibilities
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
  • Other duties as assigned. Education and other requirements: 0 - 2 years of accounting experience.
  • To Manage and oversee the management of the financial activities of group and its associated companies and funds, developing and implementing the company’s financial policies and strategies, and for ensuring the most effective and appropriate use of the company’s finance and funds.
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
  • Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
  • Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
Qualification
  • The ideal candidate should be a qualified Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant, with a minimum of four years experience, with two years in a structured Oil and Gas Company playing a similar role in financial accounting.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. o Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • A first degree in Accounting

  • Ability to use Accounting software (Tally)
  • Prompt response to and resolution of operational/ system queries, faults and service requests
  • Maintain high standard of integrity and company confidentiality
