Job Position: Trainee Engineer
Job Location: Mushin, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking an enthusiastic Trainee Engineer to support on-site construction activities across building projects.
• Reporting to the Senior/Site Manager, you will assist with day-to-day supervision, quality checks, basic layout and measurements, and maintaining accurate site records while learning practical site engineering skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily on-site supervision to ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Read and apply architectural and structural drawings for on-site execution.
• Carry out setting-out, measurements and basic surveying tasks under supervision.
• Support routine quality checks and inspections (concrete, reinforcement, finishes) and raise non-conformance reports.
• Maintain accurate site records: daily reports, material logs, progress photos and attendance sheets.
• Monitor material usage on site and liaise with procurement/logistics to report shortfalls or delays.
• Help coordinate contractors, subcontractors and site staff to keep workflow smooth.
• Report site issues promptly and support senior staff to implement corrective actions.
• Enforce safety procedures and environmental guidelines on site.
• Attend site meetings and prepare clear progress updates for the project team.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 0 – 2 years of practical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Basic competence with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel/Word); willingness to learn project management tools.
• Good numeracy, attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to take direction and learn on the job.
• Knowledge of basic construction methods, materials and health & safety practices.

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 / month
