Job Descriptions


  • As Director of Boarding and Student Welfare. you will be a key member of the Core Leadership Team (CLT), and will professionally lead the boarding house staff in a way that supports the strategic aims and reflect the standards of the school.
  • You will be responsible for the effective day-to-day management of the boarding houses which include student management, fostering of a professional staff culture and strong relationships with parents and guardians.
  • You will also be expected to take up teaching roles.
  • You will report directly to the Vice Principal (Pastoral/ Student Welfare),

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide, in conjunction with the VP(Pastoral/Student Welfare). appropriate professional leadership of the boarding staff team in line with the school strategic, plan, vision and policies.
  • Implement, participate in and assist the VP in developing programmes, procedures and policies that contribute towards the on-going improvements and effective management of the boarding houses
  • Ensure compliance with the school Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
  • Assist the VP in overseeing the organization and management of schools events
  • Ensure compliance of the school Child Protection Policy and act as ‘Named Person’
  • Support heads of boarding houses and house parents by dealing promptly and professionally with their concerns regarding the students welfare.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • A first degree or higher - BEd., BA, B.Sc, MA, M.Sc
  • A post graduate diploma in Education/Teaching qualification
  • Minimum of l0 years experience with at least 5 years in a similar role
  • Evidence of outstanding professional practice in a reputable international school
  • Experience in managing student affairs; you must have a passion for educating and interacting with youth and children
  • A solid understanding of children and teenagers’ developmental progress
  • Sensitivity and commitment to the care, well-being and success of all students
  • Excellent people anti interpersonal stilts
  • Ability to work autonomously within a team environment
  • A dynamic and highly driven individual with strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Highly organized, with ability to; work under pressure, exercise initiative, exercise judgement and flexibility in dealing with competing priorities, needs and deadlines
  • High sense of integrity and ethical standards.
