Job Position: Head of Marketing and Admissions

Job Location: Lekki, Lagos


Job Description

  • Delivering the brand positioning on all materials produced, including brand alignment corporate strategies including new brand identity on physical and digital channels.
  • Responsible for delivery of the 5-years of marketing plan in line with the university strategy.
  • Establishing and managing annual marketing budgeting, phasing, and process.
  • Ensuring monthly cost centre reports, quarterly forecasts, and budget planning for the team.
  • Responsible for delivering an efficient and proactive relationship with all University Schools and Services to enable local delivery of University marketing plans.
  • Supporting the International Office in creating marketing plans to supplement the recruitment activity of inbound students.
  • Providing relevant marketing insight, including customer behavioral insight and competitor activity to enable effective portfolio development, brand development, entry criteria, pricing strategy, and benchmarking to improve student recruitment and reputation.
  • Managing senior relationships with media and creative agencies and scrutinizing the effectiveness and impact of all work.
  • The role will involve being a member of cross-university groups including the Recruitment Strategy Group, Academic Planning Group, and Student Journey Project.
  • Establishing a standardized framework of briefing, campaign management, and analysis.
  • Responsible for delivering an efficient and proactive relationship with all University Service areas in the creation of marketing plans, notably Partnerships, Business, and Research.
  • Overseeing the Digital communication plans to ensure the University leads a digital-first approach to marketing where necessary and to embed the skills across the team.
  • Overseeing the Creative resource: creating an online portal; brand templates toolkit and finding and managing external suppliers as well as overseeing major production (e.g. video, photography – image library)
  • Contributes to the successful accomplishment of the University’s enrollment objectives by developing and implementing a comprehensive student recruitment plan for students which includes, but is not limited to, the following components: development of an inquiry pool through the use of student search services, outreach (fairs, exhibitions, etc), community University relations, use of the web and emerging technologies, digital marketing, and communication strategies, effective use of CRM technologies, campus visit programs, publications, and correspondence.
  • Participates on campus committees regarding student recruitment and coordinates effectively with academic and administrative units across campus to achieve enrollment goals.
  • Effectively administers the University’s prospective and admitted student software systems and databases (e.g., application for admission, CRM, tran) by developing a working knowledge of those systems, assessing the systems support needs of the Admissions Office, interpreting those needs to the staff of IT department, and working cooperatively with the staff of IT department, Institutional Research, and other offices on campus to ensure that the integrity of the systems and data are maintained and that the systems are utilized productively in support of admission and recruitment functions.
  • Develop data-driven recruitment strategies by effectively utilizing data from a variety of sources to evaluate student characteristics and trends, as well as the University’s market position and competition.
  • Effectively utilizes University resources in accomplishing enrollment objectives by planning, developing, and controlling the departmental budget.
  • Fosters an office environment that empowers staff to provide constituents with excellent customer service and personalization.
  • Ensures the efficient processing of admission applications by developing and administering policies, procedures, and systems that provide quality admission services for prospective students.
  • Represents the Office of Admissions on various University committees.

Education and Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree in Business or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in marketing and strategy development preferably in the higher education industry/at a business school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be target orientated.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, and social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics, including digital marketing, email campaigns, and event planning.
  • A person of great integrity, with a strong reputation in the community, who is self-confident, and poised, while at the same time empathetic, humble, and respectful
