A lover of Nigeria, Michael Afenfia associates with everything good and exciting about Nigeria.

Although he has a Law Degree from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nigeria and an MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, also in Nigeria, writing has always been his calling, his passion – his life.

As he learnt more of myself and his calling, he garnered cherished experiences in Construction, Real Estate, Banking and Public Service.

So far, he has authored a number of critically acclaimed novels: When the Moon Caught Fire (2010), A Street Called Lonely (2011), Don’t Die on Wednesday (2014), and Paxoid which he co-authored with his 12-year-old son. With Ebizimo Koroye, he has also written the biography of Gboribiogha John Jonah, the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State. His ongoing series, the Mechanics of Yenagoa, is published on his blog every other week to a rousing reception week-on-week.

Currently at the wrap of the first season at Episode 20, Mechanics of Yenagoa tells the story of Ebinimi, the fascinating graduate mechanic character around whom the plot intrigues largely evolve.

Between 2014 and 2016, he served as Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Bayelsa State Chapter and currently as a Patron of Yenagoa Book Club (YBC).
