We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Accountant
Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Roles
- Apply new accounting policies to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations
- Identify new initiatives and make recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial systems and processes
- Maintain and update accounting records and files
- Post transactions and categorizes records in the general ledger by assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses etc.
- Analyze revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities to explain variances year-on-year
- Prepare and distribute Monthly and Quarterly Actual vs. Budget reports
- Provides information to auditors for year-end audit
- Advises the organization on financial issues as they arise
- Handle vendor payments, customer receipts and ledgers
- Handle monthly employee salary
- Review, pay and confirm accuracy of employee pension with 3rd party providers
- Conducts month-end, quarter-end and year-end close procedures
- Lead or participate in other approved initiatives and projects as requested by the organization
- Prepare reconciliations and reports for the CEO and external auditors including documenting evidence to support all reconciliations and reports
Qualifications
- Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 5 years work experience.
- Experience with account reconciliation and year-end reports.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Experience in the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as it relates to recording financial transactions and financial statement presentation.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and pay attention to detail.
- Proficiency with accounting software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
