Job Description

• Our publishing department is recruiting to fill the post of an editorial assistant. The job is a part-time online based job.

Responsibilities
The editorial assistant provides support to senior editorial staff at all stages in the production and publishing of journals, books and digital products. Other functions include:

• Proofing, editing and writing online content including via social media
• Fact checking articles
• Interviewing contributors
• Using computers for word processing, desktop publishing and email
• Uploading text and images to a website using a content management system
• Compiling and distributing newsletters using specific software
• Assessing manuscripts and making recommendations on their publication to senior editorial staff

Requirements

• Must have a minimum qualification of B.A. in English Language
• The candidate must have excellent grammar and communication skills, great eye for detail, the ability to spot mistakes and a keen interest in publishing.
• Must be proficient in ICT.
