AjoCard Limited is a fintech company that makes it easy for consumers to operate digitally. The company has designed, built, and launched technical solutions to reduce the friction in everyday financial transactions, whether it is to improve savings for everyday consumers removed from financial services, or banked consumers without access to their financial transaction platforms due to location. AjoCard enables these transactions everywhere using a combination of technology (such as software and mobile POSs) and expanding agency platforms.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Position: Finance and Accounting Associate
Job Location: Ikoyi, Lagos
Job type: Full time
Work Mode: Hybrid
Responsibilities
- Reconcile financial data and General Ledgers (GLs) with precision.
- Prepare and present financial reports, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
- Collaborate with various teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across the business.
- Maintain detailed records of all GLs in the accounting system.
- Work closely with AjoCard partners, banks, and internal teams to resolve any issues.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Finance and accounting
- Skills: Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles, high attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in Excel.
- Adaptability: Ability to handle large amounts of data, compile detailed reports, and adapt quickly to change.
- Team Player: Experience in client engagement and working as part of a team.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using accounting software (preferably QuickBooks). Fintech experience is a plus.
- Professionalism: Diligence, meticulousness, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
