Job Openings at Olam International Limited

Olam International Limited (“Olam”) and Sanyo Foods Co. Ltd of Japan (“Sanyo Foods”) today announced that they have agreed to set up a joint venture company (“JV”) in Nigeria to manufacture and distribute instant noodles in Nigeria and across sub-Saharan Africa.

Sanyo Foods will invest US$20 million in cash, for a 25.5% equity interest through an issue of new shares by the JV that will house Olam’s instant noodles assets and business in Nigeria. Olam will hold the balance majority ownership of 74.5% in the JV with management control. The consideration has arrived between both parties on a willing-buyer willing-seller basis. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

Founded in 1953, Sanyo Foods is a global leader and Japan’s third-largest player in the instant noodles business. It has established a leadership presence in China, Vietnam, Russia and North America through strategic partnerships. In the past, Sanyo Foods has also acquired equity stakes in Tingyi Holdings in 1999 and King Lion of Russia in 2011 to catalyse the growth of these companies in their respective home markets. Tingyi Holdings is currently the market leader in China with 24 production facilities across the country.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) AC Technician

Job Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibitlies

• Installation: Install new AC units and ductwork in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This can include surveying the site and estimating costs.
• Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks, clean and adjust systems, and calibrate thermostats and controls to ensure optimal performance.
• Repair: Diagnose and fix malfunctioning AC units, refrigeration systems, and other HVAC equipment. This involves troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with both mechanical and electrical components of a system.
• Safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, and ensure equipment operates safely. Technicians may also need to inform customers about potential hazards.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an OND / HND qualification with 3 - 5 years of experience.

Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 monthly.

2.) Electrical Technician

Job Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Installation:Installing wiring, lighting systems, motors, and other electrical equipment.
• Maintenance and repair: Performing routine maintenance, identifying and fixing electrical problems, and replacing components like wiring, circuit breakers, or fixtures.
• Testing and inspection: Using diagnostic tools to test electrical components and systems, including both analog and digital equipment.
• Technical interpretation: Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to guide installation and repair work.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and solving electrical issues in complex systems.
• Safety compliance: Ensuring all work is done safely and in accordance with local and national regulations.

Qualifications

• Interested candidates should possess an OND / HND / B.Eng Degree with 3 - 10 years of experience.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly.

3.) Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

• Repair:Diagnose and fix mechanical issues in equipment, which can include motors, pumps, and other systems.
• Troubleshooting:Identify and resolve problems with mechanical systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
• Record Keeping:Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor time.
• Installation:Set up and test new or replacement mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Maintenance:Perform both planned preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery.
