1.) Mechanical Engineer - Plumbing

Job Location: Gbagada, Lagos

Description


  • We are looking to recruit a mechanical building engineer who can troubleshoot and test plumbing systems; assemble, install and repair pumps, pipes, fittings and fixtures; cut, thread and weld gas pipes; assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes; inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP)designs for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Prepare plans, details, specified and cost estimated of plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and general piping system
  • Provide technical advice to Value Engineer, supervisor, and contracting service provider, regarding the installation and maintenance of the MEP System.
  • Analyze Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing engineering problems and formulate solutions.
  • Prepare and review costing (quotations, tenders, and B.O.Qs) for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects - as the need arises.
  • Provide MEP budget/cost estimates (viability appraisals) for projects.
  • Carry out value engineering exercises on proposed designs and costs.
  • Monitor and control project cost estimates and ensure that the right specification in line with approved designs is deployed on the projects.
  • Review Contractor’s shop drawings against the design [tender] drawings for compliance with the design intent and return with appropriate comments/approval within the specified contractual period (normally 10 working days).
  • Undertake general project site observation/inspection of the mechanical services works for Contractor’s adherence to the approved shop drawings and Consultant’s specification, good working practices, and construction schedule.
  • Undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.
  • Undertake a prior review of the Contractor’s proposed mechanical system testing & commissioning methods
  • Oversee on-site piped system pressure test, air conditioning duct leakage testing, and other testing that may be required during the first fix works and advise accordingly.
  • Review contractor’s mechanical shop drawing in conjunction with the structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering coordination and advise accordingly.
  • Attend project, site progress, and any mechanical services-related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
  • Provide advice regarding any mechanical services related to variable costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the works
  • Carry out other duties assigned.

Educational Requirements

  • B.Sc. Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 cognate years of building construction experience with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple stakeholders on a daily basis.
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Knowledge of ELV systems
  • Construction procedures and practices
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent coordination experience
  • Excellent presentation and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

2.) Health and Safety Officer

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • We are looking to recruit HSE Officers who understand risk assessment and can offer safety advice to reduce potential hazards within and outside the work environment especially around construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Making regular site inspections
  • Planning safe working practices and making necessary changes
  • Keeping up to date and ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation
  • Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly/safely
  • Writing reports and compiling statistics.
  • Keeping up to date with developments within the profession
  • Making presentations to groups of employees/managers.
  • Providing health and safety training courses for employees and managers
  • Undertaking risk assessments and identifying potential hazards
  • Determining ways of reducing risks
  • Organizing /attending health and safety meetings
  • Safely handling hazardous substances
  • Making recommendations following accidents/incidents
  • Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health.

Educational Requirements

  • OND / HND / Bachelor’s Degree in a health, safety, or environmental field of study
  • 0 - 2 years experience in health and safety.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organization and public speaking skills
  • HSE Qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
  • Good leadership skills.

3.) Driver

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description

  • We desire to hire experienced drivers who are adept at following traffic rules and regulations and is familiar with Lagos's routes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Store team and other necessary departments to provide timely delivery of construction materials to sites
  • Drive safely and deliver materials within deadlines.
  • Notify supervisors about repairs and maintenance of vehicle/vehicle parts on the identification of faults.
  • Obey local and state driving laws and road regulations.
  • Clean vehicle daily.
  • Analyze delivery address, determine appropriate routes and maintain schedule.
  • Report any accidents or injuries to Supervisors
  • Help load and unload materials when necessary.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspection.
  • Adhere to company operating policies and procedures.
  • Ensure documentation of vehicle performance forms and driving log
  • Provide special care in delivering fragile and hazardous materials.
  • Ensure items on waybill tally with the transported items.
  • Ensure that waybill accompanies any material to be transported to any site.

Skills / Educational Requirements

  • Candidates with at least an SSCE
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to drive a Bus
  • Certificate of driving school.
  • Valid driver’s license and other required documents by Lagos Laws.
