SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER

An Indigenous Oil and Gas Company located in Port Harcourt is recruiting to fill the position of a Senior Project Engineer

     Responsibilities/Summary of Functions:


  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects
  • Assists Project Manager in the implementation of Project Objectives and motivation of the team
  • Responsible for scheduling, conducting and coordinating the technical and managerial aspect of projects
  • Review project specifications and contract drawings to ascertain accuracy and completeness
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
  • Coordinate and follow up the execution of all engineering works, Supply Chain activities, Fabrication work and Operations
  • Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
  • Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with company management/board of directors and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
  • Review Client's technical documentation/requirements and initiate appropriate corrective actions
  • Keep an eye on all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements
  • Identify engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented
  • Evaluate, organize and priorities workload within a schedule
  • Liaise with third party contractors to ensure all equipment is fit for purpose

Requirements/Qualification:

  • Experience: 10 - 15 years post qualification/ (NYSC) experience in oil and gas industries
  • B.Sc./B.Eng./HND in engineering field. A Masters degree will be an added advantage.
  • Professional membership: COREN/NSE
  • Proven experience working in a Project management role in manufacturing, construction and/or oil and gas industries
  • Verifiable experience in the use of MS Office packages
