Job Position: Audit Manager
Job Location: Jabi, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Engagement Oversight Develop audit strategies based on risk profiles and industry dynamics.
- Lead audit planning meetings, defining scope, timelines, and resources.
- Evaluate business risks, operational inefficiencies, and control weaknesses.
- Approve audit programs tailored to each engagement and client profile.
- Technical Supervision & Review Oversee the execution of audit procedures in line with ISA, IFRS, and GAAP.
- Client Management Act as primary contact for key clients—communicating timelines, issues, findings, and strategic insights.
- Deliver value-added feedback and risk mitigation strategies to clients.
- Resolve client concerns efficiently, maintaining professionalism and service excellence.
- Review complex areas like revenue recognition, lease accounting (IFRS 16), financial instruments (IFRS 9), and impairment testing.
- Provide technical resolution on challenging audit issues and accounting treatments.
- Ensure working papers are robust, compliant, and review-ready for partner sign-off.
- Team Leadership & Development Manage audit teams (seniors and juniors) across engagements.
- Coach and mentor team members; conduct performance reviews and technical training.
- Enforce accountability, promote high performance, and support career growth.
- Regulatory Compliance & Quality Control Ensure full compliance with ISAs, IFAC ethics code, local regulatory standards (e.g. FRCN, CBN).
- Conduct internal quality reviews and enforce best practices in documentation and risk assessment.
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives on audit quality improvement.
- Business Development Identify opportunities for cross-selling services (e.g., tax, consulting, advisory).
- Contribute to proposals, fee quotes, and client presentations.
- Build firm reputation through thought leadership, seminars, and networking.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 6–10 years of audit experience, with at least 3 years managing audit teams.
- ACA, ACCA, or CPA qualified.
- Strong command of IFRS, audit methodology, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven leadership, project management, and client relationship skills.
- Proficiency in audit tools (e.g., Case Ware, IDEA) and Microsoft Office.
