Job Overview

  • The organization empowers women to run for political office through advocacy, capacity-building, and financial assistance.
  • The Finance & Grant Officer will play a key role in ensuring the effective, transparent, and accountable management of financial resources, including funds received from donors and sponsors.
  • Working closely with the Finance Lead, the Finance & Grant Officer will help implement and maintain robust financial and accounting systems, processes, and procedures.
  • This includes supporting budgeting, financial reporting, financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.

Job Summary
Grant Financial Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyse financial reports for donors, sponsors and partners for all assigned grants, and detailed documentation on agreed project budgets.?
  • Monitor grant utilization, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure compliance with donor agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
  • Support financial audits of project accounts, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to audit requirements.
  • Maintain and update a grant database to streamline financial processes and reporting.?

Budgeting, Accounting and Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the Finance Lead on long-term and short-term budgeting and financial planning for our organization.
  • Support financial process reviews and develop actionable insights for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Support with technical support for fundraising activities such as grant applications in partnership with programmes teams.
  • Support the Finance lead with tax remittance processes, tax returns, and other statutory contributions to ensure compliance.
  • Support audit process and implement recommendations from audit partners.
  • Monitor staff advances, retirements, and ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts and ledgers.
  • Coordinate timely and accurate documentation and filing of payment requests, requisitions, and invoices.
  • Maintain robust internal controls to strengthen accounting and financial integrity across our organization's operations

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or administrative roles—preferably within an NGO, civic-tech, or social impact organization.
  • Candidate must be certified (ACA)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and digital tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, Google Workspace).
  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects and financial compliance processes.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Integrity, discretion, and professionalism in managing sensitive financial data.

Work Conditions:

  • Hybrid role (combination of remote and in-office work).

Salary
N350,000 - N400,000 monthly.
