Job Position: Construction Manager
Job Location: Asaba, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities


  • Project Oversight: Supervise and direct construction projects related to shore protection, erosion control, and road construction from conception to completion.
  • Cost Estimation: Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs accurately.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory and manage resources efficiently.
  • Reporting: Prepare internal and external reports regarding job status, progress, and challenges.
  • Risk Management: Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks associated with construction activities.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate and direct construction workers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Materials Selection: Select appropriate tools, materials, and equipment for each project.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, COREN) are advantageous.

Requirements / Skills

  • Experience: Proven working experience in construction management, specifically in shore protection, erosion control, and road construction.
  • Technical Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
  • Materials Expertise: Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to plan ahead, prevent problems, and resolve emerging issues.
  • Contract Management: Experience negotiating terms, drafting contracts, and obtaining permits and licenses.
