Environmental Remediation Scientist

A reputable Environmental Consultancy firm based in Port Harcourt requires the services of an Environmental Scientist to manage a remediation project.
 

Key Responsibilities:

1. To coordinate and supervise field works
2. To collect soil and ground water samples/data during assessment and remedial action activities
3. To compile and interpret field and analytical data into accurate and comprehensive conceptual site models
4. To assist with the interpretation of data, including human health and ground water risk assessments to inform mitigation measures and remediation design
5. To ensure that health and safety issues are addressed throughout the life of the project
6. To learn the project quality management system and ensure its effective implementation.
7. To supervise remediation activities i.e. excavation and operation of treatment system
8. To prepare scientific reports.

Qualification/ Skills Requirements:

1. B.Sc. + M.Sc. in Environmental Chemistry, industrial Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or a combination of any of these and Geology, Environmental Science, Microbiology or other related disciplines.
2. At least 5years working experience in similar role
3. Attention to detail
4. Ability to speak and write professionally
5. Ability to work independently in the field with strict adherence to operating procedures and safety policies
6. Must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point.
7. Project Management Experience desirable
