Job Position: Experienced Accountant

Job Purpose / Role Summary

• Our client is seeking a competent and strategic Accountant to establish and lead the company’s accounting unit. The ideal candidate will act as the financial backbone of the organization, setting up systems, ensuring compliance, and driving sound financial decision-making.
• The Accountant will be responsible for setting up and managing the company’s financial operations. This includes overseeing bookkeeping, budgeting, reporting, tax compliance, and the implementation of efficient accounting systems and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and manage the accounting and finance unit of the company.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and reports.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Develop internal control processes and financial reporting systems.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
• Supervise finance staff and ensure accuracy in all financial documentation.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Must currently be enrolled and writing ICAN examinations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Excel).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.

Salary 
N200,000 / month (depending on experience and performance).
