Position Summary


  • The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Eastern & Western Hospital’s operations - including finance, administration, marketing, human resources, customer relations, and public engagement — and reports directly to the Board of Directors.
  • This is a multi-tasking leadership role that requires supervision, strategic guidance, and innovative thinking to ensure continuous optimization and growth of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities
Finance:

  • Supervise all financial transactions and documentation.
  • Ensure patients’ payments are properly recorded in the hospital software by cashiers.
  • Work closely with hospital management to prepare and maintain budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost control.
  • Track profitability and financial performance metrics.

Administration:

  • Oversee smooth workflow across all hospital departments, including Nursing, Admin, and Accounts.
  • Ensure an efficient patient triage system at the reception to enhance client satisfaction.
  • Enforce staff discipline, adherence to hospital policies, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and standard hospital environment; ensure prompt maintenance, repairs, and facility improvements.
  • Oversee record-keeping, procurement, and inventory control — ensuring consumables arewell-documented and replenished on time.
  • Compile periodic business performance statistics and submit reports to the CEO.

Human Resources:

  • Manage staff recruitment, deployment, and payroll supervision.
  • Organize staff schedules, ensure efficient duty rosters, and maintain healthy staff relations.
  • Conduct basic training, mentorship, and periodic team-building activities.
  • Ensure fair performance evaluation and adherence to HR policies.

Marketing & Publicity:

  • Develop and implement creative strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Coordinate hospital branding, publicity, and digital presence, including website and social media optimization.
  • Design marketing materials (flyers, posts, announcements) and lead promotional campaigns.
  • Participate in community and partnership outreach to enhance the hospital’s visibility and reputation.

Customer Service & Public Relations:

  • Ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to professional dress codes and client-handling standards.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee patient follow-up diaries and ensure timely appointment reminders and customer engagement.
  • Handle client feedback and complaints professionally to improve satisfaction.

Environment & Facility Management:

  • Supervise housekeeping, sanitation, and waste management activities to maintain a hygienic environment.
  • Oversee maintenance of hospital equipment, facilities, and utilities, ensuring they are functional and safe for use.
  • Monitor repair schedules and coordinate with technicians for timely maintenance.

Core Areas of Focus:

  • Human Resources: Scheduling, staff relations, and training.
  • Administration: Record-keeping, procurement, and public interface.
  • Finance: Cost analysis, revenue tracking, and profit management.
  • Customer Service: Quality assurance and service excellence.
  • Environment: Cleanliness and safety compliance.
  • Facility & Equipment: Maintenance and functionality.
  • Marketing & Sales: Publicity, contract supply sales, and promotional strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred); education or professional experience in developed countries is an added advantage.
  • Proven leadership and communication skills.
  • Basic accounting knowledge and familiarity with database systems.
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel (use of formulas for payroll, invoicing, and reporting).
  • Excellent organizational and management abilities, with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Demonstrated innovation, creativity, and initiative in improving operations.

Salary
N750,000 - N1,000,000 / month.
