Stat Marine Nigeria Limited specializes in offshore engineering and technical consultancy, subsea inspection and monitoring, flow management operating philosophy and procedures, subsea system design (structure and hydrodynamics), fabrication and installation supervision, as well as marine renewable energy (foundation design installation and maintenance and inspection).

Job Summary


  • The General Manager will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the operations of STAT Marine Nigeria Limited, a global leader in providing technical consultancy, engineering, inspection, and training services to the offshore oil and gas industry.
  • The incumbent will collaborate closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership to drive business growth, operational excellence, and strategic expansion, while ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, client satisfaction, HSEQ, and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director to develop and execute the company's overall strategic direction, growth initiatives, and expansion plans.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to department heads, promoting alignment with company goals and values. Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies, considering market trends, competitive landscape, and industry innovations.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of various departments, ensuring efficient processes, optimal resource utilization, and effective communication.
  • Implement best practices and operational improvements to enhance service safety & quality, project delivery, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.

Business Development:

  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to expand the company's global presence. Collaborate with the Business Development team to create and execute strategies for client acquisition, relationship management, and revenue growth.
  • Engage with key clients and industry stakeholders to understand their evolving needs and provide tailored solutions.

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects to ensure safety, quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor project performance metrics, financial targets, and resource allocation to achieve operational excellence.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Foster strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential clients to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for high-profile clients, addressing their concerns and proactively identifying opportunities for value-added services.

Financial Management:

 

  • Work with the Finance department to develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and cost control.
  • Monitor financial performance against targets, analyze variances, and take corrective actions as needed.

People Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
  • Support talent acquisition, performance evaluation, and career growth initiatives to attract and retain top talent.

Industry Leadership:

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance its reputation and thought leadership.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements to drive innovation within the company.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:

  • Uphold and promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance in all operations and projects.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of employees and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering discipline with a strong background in oil and gas offshore/deepwater projects or a related field (Master's Degree is a plus).
  • Extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the offshore oil and gas industry, including technical consultancy, engineering, inspection, and training services.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, expanding market share, and delivering exceptional results.
  • Professional certifications and memberships relevant to the oil and gas industry are advantageous.
  • Global perspective and familiarity with international markets and regulations.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to make informed decisions under uncertainty.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial literacy with the ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and make sound financial decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • High ethical standards, professionalism, and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to travel as required for business purposes.
