Job Description


  • We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Inventory Management to oversee and manage all aspects of inventory control for Dangote Cement Plc.
  • This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and effective management of inventory levels, optimizing supply chain processes, and minimizing costs while meeting customer demand.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies and policies to optimize inventory levels, lead times, and costs.
  • Establish and maintain effective inventory control systems, including the use of technology and data analytics.
  • Implement inventory accuracy programs and conduct regular physical inventory audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory performance, including turnover rates, stock levels, and obsolete or excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, set inventory targets, and ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained.
  • Manage inventory replenishment, including purchasing, order fulfillment, and supplier management.
  • Lead and develop a team of inventory management professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in inventory management, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in inventory management or related roles.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing and optimizing inventory across large-scale operations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Deep knowledge of inventory management principles, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain operations, including demand forecasting, procurement, and order fulfillment.
  • Experience with inventory control systems and technology, preferably including SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team to achieve objectives.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
