As we scale into new markets and expand our candidate pipeline, we are strengthening our technical leadership. The Head of Technical Assessment role is central to building Alpha Global’s innovation backbone blending recruitment technology, talent evaluation, and client advisory into one.

Mission of the Role

To own Alpha Global’s technical strategy and delivery readiness ensuring our recruitment pipeline is powered by reliable systems, accurate evaluations, and future-oriented innovation. The Head of Technical Assessment will report to the Project Manager (Lagos) and work closely with HR, Operations, and European leadership.

Core Responsibilities

1. Technical Strategy & Systems

• Oversee Alpha Global’s AI-powered ATS and automation flows, ensuring speed, reliability, and compliance.
• Design and continuously refine candidate vetting frameworks, aligned with European market expectations.
• Drive innovation: introduce tools, cloud setups, and security protocols that strengthen recruitment delivery.

2. Candidate Vetting & Evaluation

• Lead structured technical interviews and assessments across backend, frontend, DevOps, cloud, data, and AI/ML.
• Review CVs, coding tasks, and real-world projects; provide decisive go/no-go evaluations.
• Train HR team on technical screening basics to increase overall speed and accuracy.

3. Client Advisory & Representation

• Join client calls to validate candidate technical fit, recommend team structures, and advise on stack alignment.
• Act as Alpha Global’s technical voice in Europe-facing conversations.
• Support business growth by presenting Alpha’s technical rigor as a competitive advantage.

4. Leadership & Collaboration

• Report directly to the Project Manager (Lagos) while collaborating with Bart (Ops) and Marta (Growth).
• Mentor HR, SEO, and content teams on technical understanding.
• Build relationships with partners (Dutch EOR, universities, tech hubs) to expand Alpha’s ecosystem.

5. Compliance, Security & Governance

• Ensure GDPR-aligned systems and secure handling of all candidate/client data.
• Maintain scalable technical processes that can support growth to 100+ active placements.
• Risk management: ensure every hire is backed by technical evidence and clear evaluation logs.

Requirements

Must-Have

• 8+ years in IT leadership (CTO, Engineering Lead, or Senior Architect).
• Proven delivery of production-grade systems (cloud, CI/CD, automation).
• Hands-on ability to run technical interviews and judge real project quality.
• Excellent English (written and spoken).
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Calm, structured, decisive communicator.

Technical Proficiency Benchmarks

• Node.js / Python / Java | 8+ years | Backend/API scalability.
• React / Frontend frameworks | 7+ years | UI/UX integration, component architecture.
• AWS (IAM, VPC, S3, Lambda) | 7+ years | Deployment readiness.
• Docker & Kubernetes | 7+ years | Container orchestration & CI/CD.
• CI/CD Tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Bitbucket) | 7+ years.
• Terraform / IaC | 5+ years (bonus).
• Git & Jira/Agile tools | 8+ years | Team velocity and delivery workflow.
