Job Position: Inventory Officer

Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Officer to manage and oversee inventory operations at our facility in Lagos.
- The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in industrial manufacturing and chemical distribution, with a strong understanding of safety procedures, stock management, and warehouse coordination.
- This role ensures accurate inventory records, efficient stock movement, compliance with regulatory standards, and smooth operational flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of all stock items, including raw materials, chemicals, finished products, and packaging materials.
- Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment requests to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Track product expiries, batch numbers, and shelf-life indicators, especially for chemicals.
- Warehouse Coordination
- Oversee the safe receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials in compliance with industrial and chemical handling regulations.
- Ensure proper labelling, segregation, and storage based on chemical properties and manufacturing standards.
- Supervise loading and offloading activities, ensuring proper documentation and safety compliance.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management review.
- Update inventory databases, ERP systems, and stock movement records accurately.
- Work closely with procurement, production, and quality teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines for handling hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and internal SOPs.
- Participate in safety trainings, audits, and quality assurance checks.
- Operational Support
- Investigate and report discrepancies, damages, or losses.
- Support production planning by providing accurate materials availability data.
- Recommend improvements to inventory processes and warehouse efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Inventory Officer or Storekeeper in industrial manufacturing and chemical distribution (required).
- Experience in industrial manufacturing and a chemical distribution company
- Strong knowledge of chemical handling, warehouse procedures, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency with inventory software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and record-keeping skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, structured industrial environment.
Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 per month.
