Job Position: Investment Manager
Job Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description


  • Our client is looking for a professional to manage its investments, and portfolio management of its investee companies. Over the past 3 years the company has transformed from a corporate to investment holding company. Our portfolio of assets comprises minority interests in a microfinance bank, general insurance company, refinance boutique, and health management organization. We are strengthening our core executive team to further enhance our asset management competence and grow the company.

Duties

  • Review of quarterly financial reports of investee companies to ensure that they are achieving their objectives, such as generating income and growing assets.
  • Management of third-party funds under management.
  • Reconciliation of fund portfolios.
  • Management of the company’s liquidity position.
  • Reviewing potential investee companies for investment.
  • Preparation of quarterly investment reports.
  • Preparation of budgets for the company.
  • Overseeing internal audit, and back-up accounts administration.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Analytical Discipline (e.g. Economics, Accounting, Law, Engineering or Science).
  • Professional qualification e.g. CFA, ICAN

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • At least 5 years of working experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively / flexibly as part of a team to achieve measurable results.
  • Strong organisation skills to manage multiple projects to competing deadline.
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong operational knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in finance (fund management, investment banking, or corporate financial); consultancy or another commercial organisation.
  • Knowledge or experience of equity financing for early stage/high growth companies.
  • Knowledge and experience of performing due diligence projects.
  • Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Understanding of financial reporting and accounts.
