1.) Drilling Contract & Procurement Engineer (Expat)
Job Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Drilling Contract & Procurement Engineer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria.
- This expatriate position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your expertise in drilling operations, contract management, and procurement processes within the oil and gas industry.
- Manage all aspects of drilling contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and administration
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for drilling equipment, materials, and services
- Conduct thorough cost analyses and risk assessments for drilling projects
- Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to ensure optimal terms and conditions
- Oversee the tender process for drilling-related contracts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with project timelines
- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with terms and conditions
- Implement and maintain procurement software systems
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors and internal departments
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in drilling contract management and procurement
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Petroleum Engineering
- 5-7 years of experience in drilling contract management and procurement
- Professional certification in Contract Management or Procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPM)
- Extensive knowledge of drilling operations and the oil and gas industry
- Strong understanding of international contract law and procurement processes
- Proven experience in negotiation, risk assessment, and cost analysis
- Proficiency in procurement software and project management tools
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Willingness to work as an expatriate in Lagos, Nigeria
- International experience in the oil and gas industry is highly preferred.
2.) Geotechnical Engineer
Job Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our field execution team for advanced geotechnical and foundation engineering works.
- The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in implementing a wide range of soil improvement techniques such as Perforated Vertical Drains (PVDs), Dynamic Soil Improvement, Deep Soil Mixing (DSM), Jet Grouting, Sheet Piling, Anchors, Interlocking Contiguous Tubular Steel Piles and Combi Wall.
- This role is focused on execution and site supervision, not just design, but requires the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure successful implementation in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure proper field execution techniques including:
- Perforated Vertical Drains (PVDs)
- Dynamic Compaction and Soil Improvement
- Deep Soil Mixing (DSM)
- Jet Grouting
- Sheet Piling
- Tie Rods Anchors
- Combi Wall Revetments
- Interlocking Contiguous Tubular Steel Piles.
- Interpret and follow geotechnical design documents, construction drawings, and method statements.
- Coordinate with and monitor the soil laboratory team to ensure accurate execution of field and laboratory tests.
- Be proficient in interpretation of Cone Penetration Tests (CPT) and Standard Penetration Tests (SPT).
- Monitor and document daily site activities to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with technical specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to resolve field issues in real time.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, progress reporting, and material tracking.
- Participate in technical meetings and provide input on constructability and execution optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum [5+] years of field-based experience in geotechnical and foundation works.
- Proven expertise in the execution (not just design) of soil improvement and deep foundation techniques.
- Strong experience in DSM, Jet Grouting, PVDs, Dynamic compaction, Sheet piles, Tie Rods, Combi Wall Revetments and Interlocking Contiguous Tubular Steel Piles.
- Knowledgeable in interpreting CPT and SPT results and coordinating related activities with the testing teams.
- Ability to read and understand design drawings, technical reports, and specifications.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently and accurately to communicate effectively with international teams and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills for site operations.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and QA/QC requirements.
3.) Senior Drilling Engineer
Job Location: Lagos
Job Description
- We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria.
- As a Senior Drilling Engineer, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and overseeing drilling operations for both offshore and onshore projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize drilling programs and well designs to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the drilling team throughout all phases of well construction
- Analyze and interpret geological and geophysical data to make informed decisions on drilling strategies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address complex drilling challenges and implement innovative solutions
- Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for potential drilling issues
- Monitor and evaluate drilling performance, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce non-productive time
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and local regulations
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders
- Mentor and train junior drilling engineers to foster their professional development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in drilling engineering, including offshore and onshore operations
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification
- Languages : English and French an added value
- Advanced knowledge of drilling engineering principles and practices
- Proficiency in drilling software and simulation tools
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent project management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of drilling technologies and equipment
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations
- Thorough understanding of well control and safety procedures
- Proven track record of successful well planning and execution
- Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
