Job Position: Engineering Procurement Specialist
Job Location: Ilupeju, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Summary
- The role is responsible for bridging engineering, production teams and external suppliers, managing strategic sourcing of technical, production, administrative, and IT requirements, overseeing engineering projects and factory services, handling contract negotiations and supplier relationships, and ensuring GMP compliance, cost efficiency, and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Technical Sourcing & Procurement Execution:
- Interpret technical specifications with Engineering and Production teams.
- Source, evaluate, and qualify vendors while conducting technical bid assessments.
- Manage PR, RFQ, negotiation, PO creation, and contract award processes.
Vendor Management & Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure supplier pre-qualification and regulatory compliance (SON, NAFDAC, ISO, cGMP, etc.).
- Monitor vendor performance on delivery, quality, and service levels.
- Conduct periodic supplier audits in collaboration with QA.
Cost Optimization & Supply Planning:
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and warranties to optimize TCO.
- Analyze market trends and identify cost-saving sourcing alternatives.
- Coordinate reorder levels and align specifications with users to ensure timely and efficient supply.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- 3-7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, specifically within the Pharmaceutical, FMCG, or Biotech industries.
- Exposure to purchasing engineering and quality equipment
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and water treatment plants are highly preferred.
Key Competencies:
- Understanding of industrial spares and general engineering, has knowledge of cleanroom requirements.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle) and Advanced Excel
- Moderate understanding of contracts and ability to negotiate service level agreements (SLAs).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data sheets.
