1.) Contracts Engineer

Job Locations: Lagos & Rivers
Employment Type: Ful-time

Job Purpose


  • The Contracts Engineer shall be responsible for the management of contracts and agreements, ensuring they are strategically sourced, competitively tendered, and robustly administered.
  • This role safeguards Company's commercial and legal interests, mitigates contractual risk, and fosters strong, performance-driven relationships with vendors and clients to support successful project execution and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Shall be responsible for driving the entire contract lifecycle, from initial tender to final close-out, ensuring all agreements are strategically sound and administratively robust.
  • Shall support the CCM Lead in piloting the end-to-end tender process, including the preparation of Invitations to Tender (ITT) and coordination of pre-bid meetings and clarifications.
  • Shall participate in conducting thorough technical and commercial bid evaluations, prepare award recommendations for the management consideration
  • Shall actively participate in managing performance, correspondence, variations, and fostering strong, performance-driven relationships with vendors.
  • Shall administer the formal change management process for contracts, evaluating, and documenting all variations and change orders.
  • Shall review contractor invoices and payment certificates, verify alignment with contractual terms and actual work progress with the project management team.
  • Shall proactively identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks while ensuring full compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Shall support the management of contractual claims and works with the project team to resolve disputes, maintaining comprehensive records throughout the process.
  • Shall support the contractual close-out of projects, and contribute to lessons learned to support the development of the Approved Vendor List (AVL).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • % of contracts awarded within the approved budget and schedule.
  • Reduction in contractual disputes and claims.
  • Compliance with tender and contract management procedures.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of contract documentation and reporting.
  • Vendor performance feedback and contract close-out effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

  • EducationBachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or any relevant course. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, RICS) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of progressive experience in contract engineering or administration, specifically within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or EPCI project environment.

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of contract law, different forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO), and contracting strategies.
  • Proven experience in tender preparation, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
  • Proficiency in using Vendor Management Systems and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and project lifecycle.

2.) Cost Controller

Job Location: Lagos
Service Division: Projects, Operations and Asset Maintenance
Reports To: PPS Manager

Job Purpose

  • This position shall be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining detailed cost management systems to ensure project execution aligns with the established budget and forecast.
  • The Cost Controller shall provide critical, forward-looking analysis and data-driven insights to support proactive decision-making by company executive management.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Shall develop and maintain the project's Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and establish the official cost baseline for all company projects and operations.
  • Shall create detailed cost estimates for all project phases and prepare accurate forecasts (Estimate at Completion - EAC) to predict final project costs.
  • Shall conduct Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis to measure project health using key indices (CPI, SPI) and assess schedule and cost performance.
  • Shall implement and manage robust ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, etc) to track all project commitments, expenditures, and accruals against the approved budget.
  • Shall identify, analyze, and report on cost variances, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions to management.
  • Shall quantify the financial impact of project changes and trends, ensuring all impacts are captured in the Management of Change (MoC) process and budget updates.
  • Shall work with the project and operations team to quantify financial risks and opportunities, and monitor the use of contingency funds.
  • Shall generate timely and clear cost reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate financial status and projections to company management.
  • Shall utilize the company's ERP (SAP, Odoo, etc) and project controls software as the primary tools for all cost management and reporting activities.
  • Shall provide proactive, data-driven insights to support decision-making, offering early warnings of potential cost overruns and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy of cost forecasts (Variance between Forecasted EAC and Final Actual Cost).
  • Accuracy and timeliness of Earned Value Management reporting.
  • Effectiveness in early warning of cost overruns and identification of cost-saving opportunities.
  • Quality and clarity of cost analysis and reporting.
  • Adherence to project controls procedures and the ICMS framework.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) is required. A post-graduate qualification in Project Management or Finance is an advantage.
  • Experience:Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a cost engineering or project controls role within the Oil & Gas, Energy, or heavy construction industry.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert knowledge of cost engineering principles, Earned Value Management (EVM), and risk-based forecasting.
    • Proficiency in using ERP systems (SAP, Odoo, etc)and advanced project controls software.
    • Advanced skills in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI).
    • Strong understanding of project scheduling principles and their integration with cost control.

3.) Project Manager

Job Location: Lagos

Job Description

  • The ideal candidate shall oversee the overall coordination and supervision of a Pipeline Project, ensuring alignment with Client's objective.
  • The Project Manager shall be directly responsible for the overall day-to-day management and successful execution of the project, including planning, executing, and closing the project within defined scope, budget, and schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee detailed planning of all project phases, such as engineering closeout, procurement, and construction methodology.
  • Manage contract review and execution, and shall ensure the review and endorsement of comprehensive drawings, specifications, material requisitions, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Management to finalize project objectives, milestones, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Oversee the tender process for subcontractors, ensuring adherence to procurement procedures and local content requirements.
  • Approve vendor selections, contract awards, and expediting plans for long-lead items
  • Monitor the EPC Contractor’s adherence to the Construction Execution Plan, HSE protocols, and QA/QC standards.
  • Ensure rigorous supervision of all EPC Contractor's physical construction activities, verifying strict adherence to approved design specifications, safety standards, environmental regulations, and project timelines.
  • Monitor the EPC Contractor’s adherence to approved welding procedures (WPS/WPQT) and NDT protocols.
  • Manage overall site operations, including preparation, access, logistics, and resource mobilization/demobilization.
  • Ensure accurate measurement and verification of work progress for invoicing, and shall prepare and submit regular, detailed project performance reports to the Client.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s in Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum 15 years in oil/gas projects, with 10 years in lead management roles for pipelines
  • Strong leadership in EPC project management (oil & gas pipelines preferred).
  • Proficiency in contract administration, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with API/ASME standards, Nigerian Content Laws, and HSE regulations.
  • PMP/PRINCE2 certification
  • IOSH/NEBOSH (HSE) certification (optional).
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
