We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Safety Officer

Job Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities


  • Identify and assess hazards, risks and control measures for a specific operation or process.
  • Conduct ongoing review of operations and processes to identify potential hazards, risks and control measures that should be implemented to reduce these risks, including all costs involved in implementing such measures.
  • Supervise the operation of any potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Ensure that all company employees meet all HSE requirements.
  • Provide HSE training if necessary.
  • Ensure that health, safety, and environmental policies are followed.
  • Assess and document hazards, risks and controls in a manner consistent with established procedures and practices.
  • Set up and supervised temporary work areas.
  • Supervise the safe handling, storage & disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and injuries and refer them to the proper authorities.
  • Promote safety initiatives.
  • Compile and maintain relevant registers to ensure compliance.
  • Document staff information, minutes of meetings, and reports compiled for management.
  • Establish a cordial and professional relationship with employees.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent.
  • Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly.
  • Regularly inspect environment.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree or an Associate Degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in this position.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Valid competency certificates.
  • Registration as a Health and Safety Officer.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Applications.

2.) Supply Chain Officer

Job Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • This role works with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure that spare parts are sourced and delivered to the Technical Store.
  • This includes processing of spare part requisition, sourcing for vendors, generation of POs and approvals, and following up with the delivery of materials purchased.

Roles and Responsibilities
Requisition & Procurement Management:

  • Receives and processes approved spare part requisition order
  • Generates request for quotation (RFQ) on the Maximo platform and sends it to various suppliers
  • Generates PO for the selected supplier and share with the Technical Manager, CFO, and/or the MD for approval through the Maximo platform
  • Evaluates the quotation received from various suppliers using the price, specifications, and lead time and awards the contract to a supplier
  • Shares the generated PO with the selected supplier for delivery of materials requested.

Logistics and Delivery Management:

  • Follows up with the supplier to track the delivery timeline and ensure the materials are delivered to the Store
  • Resolves issues of rejected items with the supplier and ensures a replacement is made
  • Receives and processes supplier invoice for payment once item has been verified to be good by the end-user
  • Processes purchase orders for service providers and resolves payment issues with the TICT Supplier team.

Vendor Management and Reporting:

  • Schedules and holds meetings with vendors, suppliers, and service provider to manage relationships with them and status updates
  • Carries out the analysis and purchase of AGO, PMS, and lubricants and prepares report for the Supply Chain Manager
  • Carries out filing of documents before supplies are made.

Teamwork & Performance:

  • Works with other electricians and supervisors to complete designated tasks
  • Takes ownership of own performance using the TICT performance management system
  • Supports the induction of new team members into the Unit
  • Attends and maximises training recommended by Supervisors and HR to close performance & development gaps
  • Performs any other duties as required by the business.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification with 5 - 8 years of work experience.

3.) Assistant Safety Manager

Job Location: Apapa, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensures safety, health and environmental working conditions are followed at all times.
  • Implementation of policies, procedures and systems to provide for a safe and secure business operation.
  • Enforce safe working practices and ensure lost time injuries are kept to a minimum.
  • Assist the safety manager to drive and manage the company'saim to be recognized as an industry leader within the field of Safety.
  • Apply the overall company's Port standards and guidelines on HSE.
  • Assist the safety manager in setting and achieving the budget for the HSE department.
  • Coordinate studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Ensure that all safety & environmental issues are managed fulfilling the requirements of all the regulations applicable by National laws.
  • Ensure that all damage claims are handled fulfilling the requirements of all the regulations applicable according to national and international laws (maritime laws).
  • Liaise with national and local authorities and communities in order to achieve and maintain a valid security update. Represent the company with local government organizations related to safety and health, in order to ensure a mutual understanding of the Company’s goals and requirements, and to work in a cooperative partnership with local resources.
  • Prepare facility audits to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determine corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follow-up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Ensure that emergencies are handled fulfilling the requirements of the regulations applicable nationally & internationally.
  • Set objectives within overall company guidelines. Provide direction in achieving the key results that fall within HSE functional area.

Critical Qualifications / Skills / Experience

  • Preferably a University or College Degree in Marine or Industrial Engineering and Certification in Safety and Quality Management.
  • 5 - 10 years of seniority within Safety management within terminal operations, shipping, off-shore, petro-chemical, pharmaceutical or other (heavy) industry. Alternatively an equivalent experience within fire, rescue or hazardous materials work experience in transportation, production or similar.
  • English, French – fluent (oral and written).
  • Requires a proven record of HSE management experience from preferably port operations and/or similar industrial environments.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to provide leadership, obtain cooperation and assistance to meet objectives.
  • Knowledge and experience relating the handling of dangerous goods & emergency situations.
  • Ability to work independently towards targets, understanding of and ability to cope with the full scope of a Terminal HSE requirements. Self starter; take ownership of work and tackles a complex environment of stakeholders.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills in English and in the local language, where required.
  • General knowledge and experience on terminal practices (medium level as minimum).
  • Knowledge of Security regulations (national, & international.) and experience on security practices
  • Knowledge and experience on claims management and insurance.
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills, including with public schools/training facilities; effective communicator; ability to generate organizational buy-in; Team player; effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Must have extensive knowledge of:

  • Fire Prevention standards,oil spill containment procedures, emergency response methods, respiratory protection, and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Security standards, including crime scene investigation, coordination of activities with local law enforcement and general property protection.
  • First aid and CPR certified.
