iRecharge Tech - Innovations Limited, a Fintech Company located in Abuja, Nigeria, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Legal and Compliance Executive (IT / Fintech)

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Department: Operations
Reports to: Head of Operations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:


  • Review of all relevant statutory laws and regulations applicable to the Company and ensure compliance with these
  • Ensure that business activities are conducted in conformity with all internal policies and procedures, compliance training and protocols.
  • Coordination, Communication and Reporting with respect to regulatory requirements and developments
  • Serve as liaison for all regulatory bodies as well as maintaining relationships with relevant legal bodies and trade associations.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments and industry initiatives and advise management accordingly.
  • Inform the Internal Audit unit of any findings as regards non-compliance that may require investigation
  • Ensuring compliance with best practices
  • Participate in Business Process Re-engineering exercises to ensure controls therein
  • Carry out review of SLA Manuals to ensure applicable regulatory laws are incorporated.

Legal:

  • Managing Legal Privilege, Dispute Resolution and Legal Costs
  • Drafting and Reviewing of Legal documentation
  • Any other duties as required by Management.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Competencies

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Law (Must have been called to the Nigerian Bar) - Required
  • Computer Literacy- Required
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience with at least 3 years compliance experience preferably within the financial services and Technology environment - Required
  • I.T knowledge - Required
  • High level of determination and tenacity - Required
  • Good understanding of Compliance activities in Financial Services. - Required
  • Experience of developing and managing compliance monitoring programs – Required
  • Articulate, effective communication skills with the ability to communicate internally and externally (lawyers, regulators, auditors) at all levels – Required
  • Fully conversant with regulatory Directives and Guidelines - Required.

  • Knowledge of Legal Framework of Compliance Law and Management
  • Experience in Compliance, Regulatory Risks specifically in a Fintech or Banking environment
  • Basic knowledge of relevant Regulators Duties.
