Job Description


  • The role provides support to the Group Company Secretary function which has primary responsibility for Legal matters, Corporate compliance and Board Support.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering a comprehensive range of support activities, proactively troubleshooting and resolving issues which arise to enable the Secretariat deliver in line with expectations.
  • Ensuring the departments workload is appropriately prioritised and all deadlines are met.
  • Working with the Group Company Secretary to ensure that all relevant scheduling activities are carried out, including organising all aspects of Board and other meetings and ensuring all involved are aware of upcoming commitments and responsibilities.
  • Collating, reviewing and preparing a range of papers and correspondence, proactively identifying and distilling pertinent issues where appropriate.
  • Managing projects, conducting legal research and preparing appropriate reports or presentationsIndependently.
  • Appropriately handling correspondence and documentation for the secretariat, including reports and documentation of a sensitive or confidential nature using a high degree of discretion.
  • Reviewing and improving operating practices within the Secretariat to ensure it operates to its optimum.
  • Researching, prioritising and following up on incoming requests across the business.
  • Administrative support as required.

Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with experience in corporate law.
  • Minimum 2 or 3 years company secretarial experience with a good working knowledge of the Companies and Allied Matters Act.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Proactive approach, including identifying and acting on the needs of the Board and senior management team.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisational ability.
  • Strong team player.

  • Proficiency in word, Power Point and Excel
