We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Network / Server Administrator

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)

Role Summary

  • We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Network/Server Administrator to join our team.
  • As a Network/Server Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading our office networks and in-house servers.
  • Your role will involve installing and integrating new server hardware and applications, ensuring the timely updating of all servers and network devices, and providing support for third-party applications.
  • You will also be responsible for monitoring network performance, resolving network/server-related problems, defining network policies and procedures, and researching and making recommendations on server system administration.

Job Description

  • Fully support, configure, maintain, and upgrade the office networks and in-house servers.
  • Install and integrate new server hardware and applications.
  • Ensure that every server and network device is regularly updated with the latest patches and firmware.
  • Support and administer third-party applications used within the network/server environment.
  • Respond to and resolve network/server-related problems reported by end users.
  • Investigate the root cause of issues and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Define and document network policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the efficient and secure operation of the network infrastructure.
  • Specify system requirements for new network/server projects and design appropriate solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or errors related to these applications.
  • Monitor network performance, including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency.
  • Conduct network testing to identify and address any weaknesses or bottlenecks in the system.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on server system administration best practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Ensure prompt follow-up on internet service renewals and relevant server license renewals.
  • Maintain accurate records of licensing and renewal schedules.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Network/Server Administrator, minimum of 4 to 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and architectures.
  • Proficiency in server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network/server-related problems.
  • Understanding of security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSA, or equivalent) are a plus.
