Job Position: Operations Officer
Job Location: Lagos

Job Description


  • Reviewing and analyzing financial data, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other reports, to ensure the bank is operating efficiently
  • Reviewing budgets to determine if expenditures are appropriate and staying within legal limits
  • Monitoring interest rates and adjusting rates as needed to attract new deposits or retain existing ones
  • Recommending changes to policies and procedures based on experience with similar situations in the past
  • Evaluating the performance of employees by conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback on job performance
  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance with federal banking laws and regulations
  • Reviewing loan applications to assess a customer’s creditworthiness or reviewing commercial loan applications to determine if they meet lending guidelines
  • Managing the operations of a bank branch, including hiring and training employees, monitoring employee performance, handling customer complaints, and resolving conflicts between customers
  • Interviewing job candidates to determine qualifications and compatibility with the company culture

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing oversight and direction to ensure your staff is meeting service levels/deadlines
  • Working closely with senior management and direct reports to develop/implement objective and measureable productivity and quality standards for your staff/processes
  • Ensuring RFI/RFP/SLA MIS requirements are supported without impacting delivery.(These critical documents ensure the correct agent service provider is selected and performs as expected)
  • Supporting management of agent bank transitions and the Global Nostro Cycle Change process
  • Is responsible to foster relationships to provide awareness of channel and customer needs with key organizations outside of the Operations, Underwriting and Sales channels including but not limited to
  • Solves complex, multi-faceted problems facing day-to-day operations
  • Manages a team responsible for the daily operational functions within Bank Operations Cash Services
  • Conducting service reviews and hosting sub-custodian / correspondent bank visits
  • Due diligence on sub-custodian and correspondent banks for RFPs, transitions & market openings
  • Manage and coach Recruiters to ensure risk/controls are managed tightly

Job Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in relevant fields with 1 years of work experience.
  • Must be able to communicate, motivate and foster a high-performance work environment
  • Potential for occasional overseas travel to represent the firm at meetings with sub-custodians and cash correspondents
  • Full industry knowledge of customer satisfaction drivers
  • Must have excellent training/mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of Cash products and appreciation of the Treasury Service business environment
  • Quick adaptability in the use of various software applications
