We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Production Assistant
Job Location: Ilupeju, Lagos

Job Details

• The Production Assistant will play a key role in the chocolate production process, ensuring the smooth operation of machinery used in sourcing, processing, and packaging locally grown cocoa beans into high-quality chocolate products.
• The role involves setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining production equipment to achieve efficiency, safety, and product quality standards.
• The Production Assistant will also assist in cleaning, minor repairs, and adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Raw Material Handling & Storage:

• Receive and inspect raw cocoa beans upon delivery
• Monitor bean conditions (moisture, pests, contamination) regularly.

Roasting:

• Set up and operate the cocoa bean roasting equipment
• Monitor roasting time, temperature, and bean condition for consistency.

Cracking & Winnowing:

• Operate machines that crack roasted beans and separate nibs from husks
• Ensure efficient yield of clean nibs with minimal wastage.

Cocoa Butter Pressing:

• Set up and operate the cocoa butter press machine
• Monitor pressure and temperature during pressing to ensure quality yield.

General Duties:

• Assist in cleaning work areas, tools, and machines
• Support the production team in inventory and reporting tasks.

Requirements

• Minimum HND technical or vocational training in food processing or machinery
• Zero or 1 year of experience in a food production or agricultural processing environment
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable operating factory equipment.

Working Conditions:

• Factory shifts may include early mornings or weekends, depending on the production schedule
• Training on machines and safety procedures will be provided
• Work Model: Physical (Onsite)
• Work Hours: Mon-Fri (8am – 5pm); Sat (8am – 2pm).
