Job Position: Quality Control Officer
Job Location: Ikom, Cross River
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

• Responsible for directing, monitoring, and evaluating safety practices and procedures with respect to schemes for produce to enable Cardinal Torch Company to demonstrate that our on-farm practices allow us to produce safe food products that meet the Nigeria Food Safety Standards.

Job Function

• Direct, manage and coordinate field operations related to the business.
• Documenting and reporting product or service quality levels.
• Developing and implementing standards for inspection. Developing a workflow for product inspection.
• Responsible for procurement function of key agricultural produce – cocoa and cashew.
• Developing plans to help Cardinal Torch Company Limited manage waste.
• Developing and reporting product quality levels.
• Monitor stock rotation and stock storage conditions.
• Record intake inspection results.
• Communicating with other team members to solve problems.
• Follow up with the appropriate channels when mistakes are found.
• Training other team members – quality department or otherwise on all inspection processes.
• Perform internal analysis on production and recording results.
• Report and communicate results to relevant staff.
• Collecting samples where required.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years experience in a related field.
• Appropriate tertiary education - Bachelor’s Degree at the minimum requirement. A degree in Agriculture will be an advantage.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel & Powerpoint.
• Strong understanding of the market – by performing research and keeping up with industry trends.
• Working hours: Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business as working hours vary, with long hours and possibly shifts including weekends common.
• Proven ability to think independently and handle multiple projects through to completion.
• Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability, and professional demeanor.
• Able to make effective presentations to diverse groups.

Skills:

• An analytic mind and good numeracy skills.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be an excellent communicator to produce well-written reports and communicate results to a wide range of shareholders.
• Industry-specific technical knowledge.
• Working knowledge of products and services.
• Good data entry skills and sharp attention to detail.
• Having experience in a QC function within cocoa and cashew products is key.
