Job Descriptions


  • The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will provide manufacturing technical support, ensure design for producibility / cost and help direct the technical strategy for sourced components.
  • In the Senior Manufacturing Engineer role, you will provide costing estimates based on historical data and experience, lead resolution to manufacturing technical problems to relieve constraints, and use experience to solve problems, develop, and execute objectives.
  • You should enjoy digging working in a fast-paced environment and digging into details while staying focused on the goal.
  • You must be able to balance cost, quality and time when managing a project. You will be based in Lagos and report directly to Daystar Power Group’s Chief Operating Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive collaboration between design engineering, product line owners, sourcing and manufacturing shops to establish and continuously improve entitlement cost, delivery and quality of end product
  • Ensure manufacturing producibility and cost efficiency of new designs and changes
  • Work with suppliers to troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure lowest part cost and cycle times
  • Develop part cost estimates from engineering blueprints and solid model definition
  • Identify needs, communicate project approach and present outcomes of research done and recommendations for improvement
  • Deliver products as part of a team
  • Work on cross functional teams
  • Mentor and coach talent to ensure strong technical pipeline

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience with fabricating mechanical parts in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and extraordinary oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously at various stages
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm for a fast-paced, high-performing start-up work environment
