Job Location: Lagos

Role Summary


  • The Training Officer at Energy Training Centre (ETC) is responsible for supporting the design, coordination, and delivery of technical and professional training programs within the energy sector.
  • The role ensures that all training activities meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and ETC’s commitment to developing competent professionals who can thrive in the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate Training Programs in line with ETC’s Training calendar and standard procedures.
  • Support the development and review of Training materials, manuals, and course outlines to reflect current energy industry practices.
  • Facilitate Training onboarding sessions and induction for trainees and partner organizations.
  • Manage Training logistics including scheduling, participant communication, instructor coordination, and venue preparation.
  • Conduct Training needs analyses in collaboration with corporate clients and internal stakeholders to identify skill gaps and development priorities.
  • Track and maintain accurate Training records, attendance sheets, assessments, and certification documentation.
  • Gather and analyze participant feedback to evaluate program quality and recommend improvements.
  • Liaise with regulatory and accreditation bodies to ensure compliance with standards and certification requirements.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by providing input on proposals and customized training solutions for clients.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the energy and Training sectors.
  • Any other activities as may be assigned by a superior officer.

  • Timely delivery of scheduled training programs.
  • Participant satisfaction and post-training feedback ratings.
  • Accuracy and completeness of training documentation.
  • Compliance with accreditation and safety standards.
  • Contribution to client retention and new business opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in Training coordination or learning and development, preferably within the energy, oil and gas, or technical services sector.
  • Certification in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or HR (e.g., CIPM, ATD, SHRM) is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and training evaluation techniques.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Passion for continuous learning and energy industry development.
