Job Summary

• We are looking for a talented and reliable YouTube Video Editor & Thumbnail Designer to join our growing team. This is a remote, freelance position focused on producing high-retention faceless videos for a content-rich channel.
• You’ll be responsible for turning scripts and voice overs into engaging, high-quality videos that keep viewers hooked from start to finish.
• Our ideal candidate understands how YouTube works—from grabbing attention in the first 10 seconds to maintaining audience interest with smart editing, pattern interrupts, and visual storytelling. You should also be able to create compelling thumbnails that drive clicks and support channel growth.

Responsibilities

• Edit engaging faceless YouTube videos using voiceover, stock footage, B-roll, and motion graphics
• Follow provided scripts and voiceovers to produce videos that align with the channel’s tone and pacing
• Create eye-catching custom thumbnails optimized for high click-through rates
• Work fast to deliver multiple videos per week, each between 20–45 minutes long
• Optimize videos for YouTube SEO (proper structure, pacing, and visual cues)
• Collaborate with the channel owner on content direction and improvements
• Implement sound design, background music, and transitions to enhance storytelling
• Incorporate captions, text overlays, and graphics where necessary
• Research and use copyright-free footage, images, and music
• Stay updated on YouTube trends and best editing practices for viewer retention
• Revise content based on feedback in a timely manner
• Apply proven audience retention techniques, such as pattern interrupts, zoom cuts, dynamic pacing, curiosity hooks, and visual storytelling to keep viewers engaged through out the video.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience editing YouTube videos, especially faceless or documentary-style content
• Proficiency in tools like CapCut, Imagefx
• Ability to create custom thumbnails using Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and YouTube retention strategies
• Familiarity with YouTube formatting standards (hooks, CTAs, watch time optimization)
• Skilled in sourcing and organizing stock footage, B-roll, and royalty-free audio
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to deadlines
• Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly
• Strong sense of visual aesthetics and a good ear for sound design
• Knowledge of copyright guidelines and fair use policies
• Experience working with AI tools like ElevenLabs, Pictory, or Synthesia.
