Job Position: Accountant
Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria
Job Summary
- The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of the company.
 - This includes planning, analysis, controls, compliance, and reporting.
 - The ideal candidate is not just good with numbers but can design scalable finance systems, guide budgeting, manage risk, and support management with actionable insights.
 - This role requires hands-on execution and strategic thinking in equal measure.
 
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
 - Conduct monthly variance analysis and prepare management reports.
 - Provide strategic recommendations to support business decisions, expansion, and cost-saving.
 
Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Monitor daily cash flow and manage bank relationships.
 - Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and working capital.
 - Ensure optimal liquidity and proper allocation of resources.
 
Accounting & Bookkeeping Oversight:
- Supervise accurate bookkeeping, general ledger, and financial statements.
 - Review reconciliations, journals, and month-end/year-end close processes.
 - Ensure accounting records comply with regulatory and internal standards.
 - Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
 - Implement internal controls and risk management procedures to protect company assets.
 
Costing & Profitability Management:
- Work closely with production and operations teams to track product costings.
 - Monitor COGS, profit margins, and cost efficiency across departments.
 - Support pricing decisions with accurate financial data.
 
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise junior accountants and finance officers.
 - Collaborate with HR, sales, logistics, and operations on cross-functional initiatives.
 - Drive adoption of digital tools and ERP systems where relevant.
 
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or related field 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
 - Fluency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
 - Detailed Oriented and highly analytical
 - ICAN, ACCA, or other professional certification (fully or partly qualified).
 - MBA or additional finance certification is an added advantage.
