In this position, you will work closely with the human resource manager and other colleagues to improve staff development procedures and help the team to reach and exceed ambitious agreed targets.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing job descriptions, advertising vacant positions, and managing the employment process.
  • Orientating new employees and training existing employees.
  • Monitoring employee performance.
  • Ensuring accurate and proper record-keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners
  • Advising on legal issues related to compliance, risk management, dispute resolution, and regulatory affairs.
  • Liaising with external lawyers and regulators as required
  • Ensuring that all employees are organized and satisfied in their work environment.
  • Overseeing the health and safety of all employees.
  • Implementing systematic staff development procedures.
  • Providing counselling on policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring meticulous implementation of payroll and benefits administration.
  • Communicating with staff about issues affecting their performance.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis on various topics relevant to the company’s industry
  • Providing training and guidance 

Qualifications

  • Must have a Degree in Law and be familiar with the laws and regulations that apply to the oil and gas industry. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a corporate environment.
  • Able to engage in meaningful negotiation and resolution.
  • Proven experience as HR officer or other HR position
  • Knowledge of employment legislation, Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills must be able to draft clear and concise documents and explain complex legal concepts to non-legal audience.
  • Protecting the interests of all employees.
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices Understanding of labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Extreme attention to details and accuracy and can spot errors, inconsistencies and risk in legal documents and processes.
  • strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Passion for exceeding expectations, performs tasks with a sense of urgency and dedicated to doing things right.
  • Should demonstrate a willingness to learn and be trainable.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude, innovative and creative thinker is advantageous.
  • Strong ethics and reliability, self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaborate as an effective team member.
  • Have strong analytical skills and be able to research, interpret and apply relevant information to solve legal problems.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Excel, knowledge of HRMS is a plus.
  • HR Credentials (e.g., PHR from the HR Certification Institute).
