UNIX/LINUX SYSTEM Support Level 3

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled UNIX/Linux System Support (Level 3) professional to lead advanced system administration, performance optimization, and enterprise infrastructure projects. This senior role involves handling the most complex technical escalations, designing scalable system solutions, and mentoring junior team members while ensuring high availability and security of UNIX/Linux environments.

Key Responsibilities


  1. Act as the highest escalation point for UNIX/Linux server and infrastructure issues.
  2. Design, implement, and optimize Linux/UNIX systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Solaris, AIX, etc.).
  3. Manage enterprise services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, LDAP, SSH, Apache/Nginx, and Samba.
  4. Oversee system performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
  5. Implement security hardening, vulnerability patching, and compliance standards.
  6. Lead system migration, virtualization, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud integration projects.
  7. Develop automation scripts and tools (Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) to streamline operations.
  8. Ensure business continuity by designing and testing backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  9. Mentor and support Level 1 and Level 2 UNIX/Linux administrators.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to align system infrastructure with organizational needs.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or HND in Sciences, Engineering, Technology, Computing.

Certifications:
RedHat Certified System Administrator/Engineer (RHCSA/RHCE), NetApp NCDA, Veeam, VMware, CompTIA A+.

Experience:
10+ years backend support, 5+ years HPC support in G&G/RE, 2+ years Linux NIS support, 5+ years Veeam Backup.

Special Requirements:
Strong scripting/programming skills; HPC cluster operations; Portable Batch Scheduler knowledge.
