Job Description

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Warehouse/Logistics Manager to oversee our warehouse operations and logistics activities.
  • The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of experience in freight forwarding, customs, and port authority formalities, with a proven track record of managing complex logistics operations in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • The Warehouse/Logistics Manager will be responsible for optimizing inventory management, coordinating freight shipments, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations and port procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, stock control, and order fulfilment.
  • Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and secure storage of materials and equipment.
  • Coordinate with procurement, project management, and engineering teams to forecast inventory needs, track stock levels, and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities, including freight forwarding, transportation, and customs clearance processes.
  • Supervise and mentor warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of productivity and professionalism.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and transport providers to coordinate the timely and cost-effective movement of goods and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export requirements, and port authority formalities for all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, transit times, and transportation costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipments, customs clearance, or warehouse operations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in logistics and supply chain management, and make recommendations for process improvements and cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in warehouse management, logistics operations, and freight forwarding, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong understanding of customs regulations, import/export procedures, and port authority formalities in Nigeria.
  • Proven track record of managing warehouse operations, optimizing inventory control, and coordinating logistics activities to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in supervising and developing a diverse team of warehouse and logistics professionals.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make informed decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, vendors, customs officials, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Certification in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
