Job Position: Accountant (Hospitality)

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the financial operations of our hospitality business.
• The role involves handling daily accounting activities, revenue tracking, cost control, budgeting, tax compliance, and financial reporting to support effective decision-making and profitability across hotel/restaurant/catering operations.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations:

• Record daily financial transactions including sales, expenses, payroll, and supplier payments.
• Maintain accurate general ledger and reconcile bank statements regularly.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Revenue & Cost Control:

• Monitor daily sales reports, POS revenue, and cash collections.
• Track food & beverage costs, inventory usage, and wastage to support cost control.
• Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance.

Reporting & Budgeting:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports.
• Support annual budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
• Provide financial insights to management to improve operational efficiency.

Tax & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and other local taxes.
• Prepare and file tax returns and liaise with auditors and tax authorities when required.
• Support internal and external audits.

Systems & Controls:

• Maintain proper financial records and internal control systems.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
• Support implementation and use of accounting software and POS systems.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in hospitality (hotel, restaurant, or catering).
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with accounting software and POS systems.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
