Job Description
- Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join their team.
- You will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring proper classification and recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to accounting principles and best practices.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Generate financial reports and analyze financial data to support informed decision-making.
- Maintain a strong internal control system to safeguard financial assets.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant tax regulations and accounting standards.
- Payroll administration and compliance with statutory deductions and payments (e.g. PAYE, Pension Contribution, etc.).
- Perform other accounting tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in accounting or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
- Professional accounting certification (ACA, ACCA, or ICAN) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent time management and scheduling skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
