We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Accountant

Job Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT, CIT), statutory filings, and construction-specific regulations like withholding taxes on contracts.
• Track project costs, overheads, and profitability for construction projects, providing cost-to-complete analyses and financial reporting to management.
• Handle payroll processing, employee deductions, and pension contributions while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and banks to support audits, resolve discrepancies, and optimize financial processes.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare management reports, KPIs, and financial dashboards to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage vendor payments, invoice processing, and procurement financial approvals.
• Support budgeting for new projects and monitor expenditure against approved limits.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3-5 years of post-NYSC accounting experience, preferably in construction/real estate or SME environments.
• ICAN certification is an added advantage (must be in progress or certified).
• Preference for married female candidates with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ERP systems) and advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• In-depth knowledge of Nigerian GAAP, tax regulations, and construction industry financial practices.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure.
