We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Architect

Job Location: Lagos
Probation: Six months
Job Type: Full Time|
Hours: Normal Office hours are 8.00 am - 5 pm with a one-hour break (Monday - Friday but at the exigencies of the job)

Role overview


  • Provide technical advice and supervision on the planning, designing, developing, constructing and maintenance of building structures and infrastructures.
  • The post holder will be a part of the technical arm of the Business Development Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop projects from early concept through design development.
  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications meeting legal, health and safety standards and other regulatory laws on all projects.
  • Working closely with a team of other professionals during project management
  • Conduct day-to-day management of site work and site investigations including supervising and monitoring site labour force and contractors; and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and others)
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • ensure that all materials used and work performed on site are in accordance with the specifications.
  • Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
  • Design, Plan, develop and document commercial and industrial building projects.
  • Assessing and reporting potential risks, materials and costs on constructions.
  • Monitor progress and compile periodic reports on all project status and submit such the Head of Department staff belongs.
  • Ensuring projects run smoothly and structures are completed within budget and on time.
  • Liaising with the quantity surveyor about the ordering and negotiation of the prices of materials.
  • Be part of the team that will review and approve contractor pay requests.
  • Making sure the project complies with legal requirements, especially health and safety.
  • Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies on designs and construction.
  • Ensure that government approvals planning permissions are secured for the Organization.
  • Review Contractors' and Subcontractor’s drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and contract agreements by checking them for technical accuracy according to accepted and agreed guidelines.

  • The Organization through the Human Resources Department may amend these responsibilities at any time in line with the changing organizational strategy, structure and roles.

Person Specification
Education:

  • Essential: A Master’s Degree or its equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Preferable: Licensed Architect with knowledge of Architectural Software
  • Preferable: Design Architecture.

Key Skills and Competencies:
Essentials:

  • Proven architectural work experience in a real estate firm.
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in the use of computer aided design or similar software
  • 3D development & rendering skills (ability to use REVIT,3D-Max, Render, and similar software)
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within budgets.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: Very competitive but based on experience
  • Annual Leave: 20 Working days
  • Pension: In line with the pension scheme of the Organization.
