Job Position: Assistant Supply Chain Manager
Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities


  • To direct or coordinate purchasing, warehousing and distribution services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy of the supply chaindepartment.
  • Manage procurement, inventory management and logistics including setting targets and performancemonitoring.
  • Produce regular reports on performance including spend analysis, savings and potential savings for forecasts andbudgets.
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, orlaws.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers,vendorsand freight forwarders (local & International)
  • Develop materials cost forecast and standard costlist
  • Collaborate with other departments such as, Engineering and Quality Assurance to identify and qualifysuppliers.
  • Manage the inventory of all materials to ensure that materials are available when required and there is no stock out.
  • Assess appropriate material storage and handling equipment needs and stacking levels to load, unload, move, or store materials.
  • Appraise vendor capabilities through both desktop and on-site appraisals.
  • Continuous monitoring of supplier performance.
  • Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum qualification of First Degree in a Supply Chain related course from a reputable institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Supply Chain role at a Managerial level
  • Proficient understanding of the supply chain process.
  • Experience in using an ERP to manage supply chainprocesses.
  • Possession of people skill (Ability to interact effectively with people -staff, regulatory agencies,vendors and customers alike)
  • Ability to develop, build and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Sound ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work under pressure.
  • Proactive (ability to think and take initiative) and must have problem solving skills.

  • Must be discernibly honest and of consistent uprightcharacter.
  • Must be ethicali.e.must follow the ideals and responsibilities of the industry as set out in the code of ethics guiding operations and operators in the industry.
